My year so far has been very hectic but I know the first year is always the toughest. Right now the hardest part is trying to get all the paperwork caught up and try to teach at the same time. I am struggling to keep the students busy. Just about all my classes, I have different subjects going on at the same time. I do not want to be a teacher who just gives each student a assignment then make rounds to see if they need help. What is the best way to avoid that and get more hands-on?

VAAP

This is my first time dealing with VAAP. Does anyone have any idea how it works? Is it just like VGLA, but in stead of doing all of the bullets, I can just choose one?

Multiple subjects

Does anyone have suggestions on how to teach multiple subjects in a classroom without any other help? I have two different math subjects (Algebra I and Pre-Algebra) and two Earth Science students. Does anyone else have a classroom like this? I do not like. I believe that the students do not get the proper attention. All of the subjects have SOL's and if they do not pass them guess whose fault it is.

Hope everyone has a great year.

VGLA or SOLs

Since the year is almost over, did anyone have any issues, like me, trying to put together a VGLA folder for the first time? I think VGLA's are great, but it seems that it comes down to the teacher to make sure that they have put together the right information so the student can pass. I found that it was hard to come up with my own worksheets and also to find the time to teach the student all of what has to go into the folder. I do know that once all the worksheets are "4s", than it makes VGLA a… Continue
